For our posting of Contracts through RERAPP, assignment field in SL is automaticcaly filled in by Contract Number. However, in the GL postings, Assignment number displays the Posting Date instead, which should not be the case.
The way the assigment field (ZUONR) is filled is determined by the Sort key field in the GL account or in the customer. Here you have different standard options like 001 for Posting Date and 035 for Contract Number. So the sort key which is chosen in the customer or GL account determines the way the Assignment field is filled.
