Dear experts,
I am not sure if I am in the good forum space for this question, if not, please tell me which space would be more appropriate.
We are on SAP SQL server 2008 and windows server, and we would like to copy the production environment on another system.
The question is how can we make sure the system is 'isolated' and that it does not communicate with other production systems ? Is there a simple way to make sure of that ?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help
Best regards,
Bob
There is no simple way to do anything. Take the following items into consideration before bringing up a refreshed instance.
1.) Go to the Parameter File and set the value of rdisp/wp_no_btc to 0, so no batch jobs will run. You might get an error when logging into, ignore it.
2.) Go to SM59 and remove all RFC Connections pointing to other production systems.

Execute SE06
Change Logical system using SCC4
Different hostname
Different SID
Delete Old Licenses
Delete Unnecessary RFCs using SM59
Delete SMLG information
Through 000 client, delete TMS configuration and make a new landscape (not required if SE06 executes)

assign a different IP and hostname to new machine. Follow the Post Installation Activities of Installation Guide.
