Sourcing File transfer

  1. Can
SAP do SFTP (FTP using SSH) to transfer a file from SAP Hosted Sourcing to
    client?

Single Sign On For Sourcing.

  1. In the SAP Sourcing Wave 9 - Overview of SAML 2.0 for Single Sign On
document.  IDM is highlighted as Identity Provided, when a user cannot
authenticated – is there logging kept to identify failed users?
  2. How long does it take to implement Single Sign On for sourcing.  (Currently no
    IDM exists)

Any and all help is appreciated.

Here are some answers:

Sourcing File transfer

1) No, that is not avaiable yet. This feature is currently under development and will probably be availablel in the upcoming release (Wave 10). For On-Demand / Hosted solution file transfer via FTP is possible if it's in the same domain.

What exactly is the use case ?

Single Sign On for SAP Sourcing

1) Since IDM is the Identity Provider, and all the login requests are redirected to the IDM which then provides the UI authentication for SSO, IDM would be the central location that will log all failed and rejected login requests.

2) That is a hard question to answer, since it depends on the number of applications in the landscape you would like to be available via SSO.

Hope this helps, if it is helpful, please mark it as helpful for future readers.

Hi Armin,

Thanks for the info,

Use Case for 1.

A report is created within
sourcing.  The report needs to be transferred over to the client.  If
FTP is not available what are other options for the Client to receive the file?

Hi,

you're welcome.

I checked back with development and the current status (with Sourcing 9.0) is that you can send reports to an FTP server but it's only "plain" FTP, the SFTP option is in the making though.

An idea which came up to fulfill your use case would be to setup a scheduled task which executes the report and sends the results to a recipient via email which is setup in the scheduled task.

Hope this is helpful,

Armin
