hdbnameserver doesn't start - "cannot retrieve master nameserver address"

Dear experts,

we are in a SAP HANA PoC at a customer. The SAP HANA system has been installed at SAP's data center and has been

moved and reconfigured at the customer site (IP address, domain)

saphanapoc.wdf.sap.corp => saphanapoc.<customerdoamin>.de

these changes have been made everywhere (sapprofile.ini, daemon.ini, /etc/hosts, etc.)

however, during startup the nameserver trace file shows.....

Installation used to work in the environment in wdf

installation is not configured to have multiple nameservers.

nameserver.ini shows empty entries for

master =

id =

Any ideas? thanks for your help

Hi

I am also facing the same issue " no master nameserver found -> stopping instance ..."

Please suggest if anyone has solution for it.

Hello,

meanwhile we did the following

1) changed the right nameserver.ini manually (we had looked at the wrong one)

2) used tool hdbrename to change the hostname for the whole installation

=> hdbnameserver fails now with another error: "cannot retrieve HA role from current topology....use hdbaddhost"

3) we tried to call hdbaddhost as root user, but we're runnning in an error in HanaHwCheck.py. It tries to "import math" but this doesn't exist in this installation

=> wewill do an uninstall now and re-install HANA.

Recently, we've met with error “due to an error via explicit exit call with exit code 1 , no crash dump will be written”， but without "Cannot retrieve master nameserver address".

We've no idea of solution. Could you please help me think about it?
