Would anyone know of or be able to tell us how to purge or manage in CLM hundreds of "pending" queued messages.
If they could even be flushed that would be acceptable.

Hi Rick,
It looks like emails are currently turned off in your system.
If you would like the messages to be sent out, then you would have to enable the Email Daemon by going to Setup > System Information > Daemons tab > E-Mail Enabled checkbox.
If you don’t want the queued emails to be sent, but deleted, then you could setup a custom rule in the Mail Configuration.
Note, if the number of items in the queue is very large you may want to do this after business hours.
