RDS Business Benefits

Could someone please share what the business benefits are behind SAP Rapid Deployment Solutions?

I'll bet that there is already quite a bit of marketing stuff that answers this

RDS packages come in a variety of flavors. As someone who has worked on Analytic packages, I can only give you my perspective.

Business Benefit #1 -  Preconfigured content gets users to answers more quickly. Created to answer business users questions using best practices and drive a business users decision-making processes, these preconfigured reports and dashboards provide insight and analysis.

Business Benefit #2 - Far fewer resources necessary to start and get-to-live. Because RDS projects are fixed scope that leverage existing IT investments, it's shorter, much less costly than typical software projects.

Business Benefit #2 1/2 - Rapid-deployment solutions reflect the 'new reality' that more organizations are requiring business people when proposing projects to get budget and schedule. Since business users are looking for answers, not necessarily applications, it makes it easier to plan and budget when you are looking at a fixed scope that addresses a specific, important process. If you are a looking to pitch a project to your organization, it's about addressing  Net Margin, or Program Performance, as examples, not 'implementing new software solution'.

Business Benefit #3 - You don't need buzzwords or acronyms to understand it. These rapid-deployment solutions are just that - quick ways of answering business problems.
