MB5M- Batch status field

Hi QM Gurus, i want to do a development to identify the expired batches through MB5M and to set those batch status as restricted in msc2n screen if expired. but, currently the field batch status (restricted / unrestricted) is grade out. please advise when we run this as a batch job, can the system able to change this status from unrestricted to unrestricted.

Hi Raju

To activate the materials to get into blocked/restricted, you need to define the shelf life in material Master. Also, define the Inspection interval in QM view-Material Master. Then in QA07, define the background schedule with the materials & selection of proper radio buttons for the stock to get into quality/blocked stock.

MB5M allows you to look at the batch in display mode only, so that might be reason why Unrestricted/Restricted status is greyed out.

I guess you can write a program to restrict batches based on MB5M and then schedule it for background processing.

Deadline Monitoring in QM allows you to move batches to QI hold or blocked status once they reach shelf-life as part of standard functionality - check out transaction QA07. But then you have to active the materials for QM
