VC dependencies...

Hi,

Am on a project and as an additional responsibilities i am been asked to learn VC. Am SD consultant and knows basic config of VC and can do variant pricing...But I am not able to write dependencies even after reading PDF file on VC...I am not able to get the use of "Action, Constraint. Precondition and Selection condition" dependencies...and under what circumstances those are being used...also how to write those dependencies...I know there is no straight forward method to write those...but if anyone can simplify those...

Thanks for the response...i am going thru the link you sent me but slowly since am in project and finding very few hours to go thru...am confused on the difference betn precondition, selection condition, procedure and constraint...the explaination given in the link is not clear...could you please throw some light on this...

for a very generic explanation.

Selection condition : used for selecting component from BOM based upon characteristic value assigned at sales order.

Precondition : to Hide or display characteristic value based upon value assigned to another characteristic.

Procedure: to calculate quantity's , pass value from characteristic to another characteristic based on rules etc.
