Issue with the stock allocation (ATP)

Hello Experts,

Configuration for ATP

OVZ2- Accumulation =1

Unchecked 'check without RLT'

RLT maintained in material master = 1 day

All materials are batch managed

Every requested quantity after the end of replenishment lead time is

confirmed. That is OK because it's a planned confirmation and does not

reduce ATP quantity.

When the replenishment time goes by, day by day, and gets beyond the

requested date in CO06 ( backorder processing),

still the total amount for the same sales order is confirmed but this

time ATP is reduced by the confirmed quantity,

altough there may not be enough ATP in the stocks.

This causes negative ATP's. ( Confirmations more then ATP amount)

Questions :

1. Will the confirmed quantities after the RLT will be made zero if we execute V_V2 and will confirm to the current sales orders?

2. How to identify these sales orders in Co09 or co06?

3. What is the impact if we do not consider RLT?

How can i get rid of this situation?

Perhaps i need something like

1) An automatic delivery proposal made by the system, "as soon as " the

replenishment time gets beyond the requested date for the "same order"

in CO06 .

OR

2) A scope of availability check such that negative ATP's is not

permitted.

The situation you describe is not an error of the system and is alluded to in SAP note 153355.

"1. Will the confirmed quantities after the RLT will be made zero if we execute V_V2 and will confirm to the current sales orders?"

Assuming the "Fixed Date & Quantity" indicator is not set, V_V2 should 'correct' the negative ATP quantity situation and assign the available quantities accordingly. They could be made zero or they could be allocated some of the available stock; it depends on the sort order of V_V2.

"2. How to identify these sales orders in Co09 or co06?"

You want to identify the orders that were previously confirmed by RLT? Dont think this is possible.

"3. What is the impact if we do not consider RLT?"

Well, you will get less confirmed available quantities when you execute availability checks. You will need to have stock or receipts to cover the requirements, otherwise your sales orders will not get confirmed.

If you are consistently getting negative ATP quantities due to your end lead date (RLT), then this suggests an inappropriate end lead date that is too near. As the SAP F1 help states:

"The end of replenishment lead time is the date on which the material could be available again if production or procurement is started today."

Therefore, this means you should normally be able to meet the confirmaton (through incoming stocks or receipts that are not yet on your system) by the end lead date. If you are consistently not able to do this, then you should extend your end lead date. A negative quantity accruing from the RLT scenario you describe should be an exception rather than the norm.
