Hi Experts,
We have planned to upgrade our PROD to SAP BPC 7.5 MS from SP04 to SP07.
On DEV environment it was successfully upgraded. But we are afraid if on PROD the upgrade fails how can we roll back to SP04.
Can you please advice the correct approch to resolve with this issue.
Can we restore whole OS and Registry backup on PROD server to for Roll back?
Environment:
SAP BPC 7.5 MS
DB- SQL SERVER 2008
Thanks,
SRK
Hi,
As advice you to backup all the application data as certified and official sap standarts. See the operations manual document from sap guide web site.
Backup/Restore is the right way to contingecy method.
If I was you I would considering make a cold backup of entire machine . Safest way if It is a virtual enviroment is copy the disks, configuration virtual machine file , etc
Let us know if the upgrade is fine.

If you are willing to lose data/changes made post SP upgrade then you have the option of restoring the DB from a previous version. OS restore not needed in thiste case and definitely no registry. Changes have occured at DB level . Of coiurse if kernel also get changes you can restore it from a backup you might have taken.
