Hi,
Does ATP through CRM supports CDP (the configuration schema) in APO ?
RS
RS,
CRM allows you to configure the products (quotation and sales order) during order creation time. These characteristic value assignments can be passed to APO. Please check the following SAP notes for necessary settings.
https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/872118
https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/819744
You can carry out a product availability check at characteristic level for batches from sales order entry or delivery. The availability check at characteristic level is only valid for the product availability check.

Thanks Rajesh,
Actually we are not using configurable materials, so while carrying out atp check through crm system, by default it is trying to look for CDP class. This may be due to schema (CDP) set in the configuration.
System is not giving any specific details in the error message.
Logically, system should by pass if the material is not configurable.
Any insights in this area from your side ? What should be the schema in this case if no CDP is being used, can it be kept blank?
RS
When you CIF the classes (types 023 and 300) and characteristics to APO, CDP class of type 400 will automatically be generated. If a product is assigned with this class and CIF'ed to APO, the interface will automatically assign the CDP class (type 400). You can verify these classes in material/product master record (classification tab).
Per my understanding, you need to use either VC or CDP. Except automobile industry, most of the other industries can use CDP schema. However, once it is set, it is not recommended to change.
Except batch characteristics (prefix LOBM_*), other characteristics will be part of system generated CDP class and they expect values during data transmissions.
To answer better your question, I may need some details of characteristics used, class type, and classification of your material master in the OLTP system.
Thanks,
Rajesh
Rajesh,
In ECC, we have maintained only batch class and assigned to the material.
No variant class (300) is being used because the material is not configrable. (no 'configuration' check in the material master)
Would like to know if class type 400 would still be created in APO when the class type 023 is cifed to APO ?
For your information, when I cifed a material with batch class in it, no class type 400 was assigned to it in the product master in APO. But class type 0230 entry was there in 'further classes' icon in the classification tab of the product master.
RS
Assuming you CIF'ed batch class and characteristics before material with batch class transfer, the standard system should generate CDP class of type 400 and associate it with the product in APO. However, BAdI /SAPAPO/CONFR can be used to restrict this behavior.
In our system, we haven't implemented this BAdI. The batch class and characteristics related to shelf-life are CIF'ed to APO (only those recommended by SAP using organizational area filter in integration model). When the material with batch class was CIF'ed, we found that 2 classes (types 230 and 400) with the name of batch class were created in APO and class type 400 was associated with product master.
