Difference between JSMP and SUM

Hello everyone!

What are differences of usages between JSPM and SUM?

We need to install the ADS in our java stack (NW 7.3); i used SUM before for upgrading some components, but never the JSPM. I've found the documentation for that installation using JSMP, could not find it for the other. but it recommends to use SUM.

Installation of Additional Usage Types: https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_HIER_KEY=701100035871000559799&_OBJECT=01...

What changes in the process between those two?

Thanks,

Luis Ayala

JSPM is used to install Support Packages on the Java Stack (<7.3).  SDM is used for deploying software components for Java Stacks.

SUM is used for upgrades, support packages and EHP installation for ABAP and Java stacks.

JSPM has been replaced in NW 7.3, you need to use SUM to do upgrades and install support packages.

You can still use SPAM for ABAP, but SUM is recommended.

Thanks Ravi for the rapid response.

As you can see in the document: "Installation of Additional Usage Types or Technical Usages on SAP

Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver 7.3 / 7.3 EHP1 Application

Server Java" the documentation for JSPM keeps coming and not for SUM.

Is there any guide for this task or any equivalent using SUM?

Luis,

The document does not mention anything about SUM.

Please take a look at this for installing additional Usage Types in Java.
