Hello Maestros.
I'm using SCEM 7.01 with Web Dynpro.
In the EM Portal all my Search Selections are defined from System Parameters.
Do I need to configure Query IDs? Will they aid performance?
Are Query IDs required to search by Status or for /saptrx/bapi_eh_get_data_gen ?
In IMG 'Event Handler Types' there is a checkbox to disable the creation of a Default Query ID.
F1 Help tells us that setting this indicator will improve performance.
Regards.
Zenon.
Hello Zenon,
the default query ID is always created for the application object ID. It is also possible to add additonal querry IDs from the application system (under /SAPTRX/ASC0AO you can specify your own query ID extractor). To be honest I never used them and I believe this was once introduced with one of the first releases but is today not used frequently and therefore I would not use them.
As you wrote you are already using System Parameters for searches so I don't believe that the query IDs would add performance. This might be the case if you just offer one parameter (which would be the application object ID) as search field. Then the system would just go to that table and the searches might be faster. But this use case is not very likely.
So if you never used them before and you set the flag the default query ID would not be stored on the DB (table /SAPTRX/EH_QRYID). This is why you save disk space. Just keep in mind that you also loose the possibility to use the customizing "Display Original Documents from an SAP System" (this allows you to see the document out of the SAP GUI).
Best regards
Berthold
