Clarification on Netweaver 7.3 System copy

Hello Everyone,

When i'm doing a system copy import of ABAP+ Java, I get  the option under Define Parameter - Java System copy

"Target System will replace the Scource System"

Additional Information If you want to move the source system to the target system (that is, the two systems will not operate in parallel), select the option Target System Will Replace Source System. We recommend that you do not select this option.

Can someone explain me what does this option means?

Hi Barani,

This option explains the difference between a system copy or a system migration.

So if you run the systems in parallel, that could be a copy from production to quality.

If the two systems don't run in parallel, that could be a migration (move) of the system from location A to location B.

I'm doing a DB migration of my DEV environment from MaxDB to Oracle.

My understanding from your reply is that I have to check this option. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
