Hi,
I'm having a lot of swaps on the "Export/Import" buffer (more than 70.000).
I was trying to increase the parameter values, when I got this warning message:
"Parameter value not permitted:
rsdb/obj/buffersize factor 10 greater than default 4096
Do you still want to copy the parameter?"
Should I ignore this warning message?
Hi António,
This warning can be ignored, you should review the following also for recommendations about the parameter.
According to note 702728 , as a rule of thumb the value of rsdb/obj/max_objects should not be larger than one quarter of the value of rsdb/obj/buffersize.
Also according to note 373986 , a high number for swaps does not necessarily indicate a problem as long as the hit ratio is above 80%.
Note 702728 contains the following:
-
-
a) Size in the shared memory:
Maximum: 2,097.148 for kernel release 3.I to 6.20 with a
patch number lower than 1129. Size restrictions no longer apply
to releases above this level. Every directory requires approx.
