Custom Universe BO 4.0 x BW Querie (concatenate the two objects)

Hi everyone,

I work with BO 4.0, using universes based on BW queries (7.3).

I made a few reports in WebI and one has the option of drill (which was customized in the Universe).

The question is: When I present the lowest level of the hierarchy (Employee), I need to show "ID + Description", together.

In BW, this object (0Employee) can be presented as a key, key + Text or Text. But the BO only understands key or text .... BO can't "get" this object concatenated.

It tried to create a custom object in the universe, to concatenate the two information. But the MDX doesn't allow me to manipulate strings.

Everything I read tells me to generate this information directly into BW, saying it is not possible in the "BO Universe" and "the querie Bex" .....

Any ideas / suggestions?

You might check out the document below. However, I don't think you'll have a success on your issue. You should do this in BW instead of on the universe level.

Hi,

Everything you read tells you the truth. Sad but true.

Unfortunately MDX doesnt return string datatype as result. Concatenating this two area in BW layer would be healtier for your requirement
