Hello everyone,
Right now we are facing the situation that our company wants to automate some Japanese processes. And therefore it might be necessary to use the PI (7.1) as middleware for different connections.
One of the first things I realized is that some of the messages we want to transfer are using the Shift-JIS codepage. I've no experience in the transformation from Shift-JIS to UTF-8 (the PI standard) and I'm not sure if the PI will be able to handle this (with the standard tools).
So imagine a process were a customer would send a Shift-JIS xml file (via http adapter) and we would need to transfer this message to our backend R3 system.
Does someone know if this will be easily doable or if it would need special development? Maybe it won't work at all?
Right now I can't do any testing by myself (too early stage) and our business useres want to know if we could handle such a request.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
SAP PI supports Japanese code, but you need extra configuration and you have some restrictions.
