Solution Manager 7.1. Update it with SPS05 stack

Hi,

I have recent installed system Solution Manager 7.1. WS2008R2 Oracle11.02.

I trying to update it with SPS05 stack in t-code SAINT. I launched background job OCS_QUEUE_IMPORT. Elapsed time is more than 20hours. Background job is still in ACTIVE status.

What should I do?

Hi Valery

This is an unkown issue you may fin a workaround during SP upgrade( by restarting it) But the following solution will help you.

If you would like to solve this problem. Stop he related tp.exe process. It will end the OCS QUEUE import

then you may set the Oracle initialization parameter

_use_zero_copy_io=FALSE which disables the enhanced communication protocol for SecureFile LOB columns and you have to restart the database instance.

(Additional info: Zero-Copy I/O protocol: turned on by default. Turning it off in a RAC database environment could be beneficial. Set the initialization parameter _use_zero_copy_io=FALSE to turn o ff the Zero-Copy I/O protocol)

When you finish the parameter setup you can restart the SP installation from SAINT/SPAM.

I have the same issue. Have you resolved this issue? updated Kernel before it and also tp/R3trans files. It has been going on for 16 hours with active status. I have the same setup as Valery.

1. In t-code SM50 i have background process (PID=3636, status=On Hold, reason=RFC).

2. In SM21 i have no errors for BG but i have some errors

type=DP grp=Q0 text=Operating system call recv failed (error no. 10054).

3. In d:\usr\sap\trans\log\SLOG1231.SM1 i have some strange duplicate rows

WARNING: \\solman\sapmnt\trans\tmp\SAPKK-250AGINIWFND.SM1 is already in use (490), I'm waiting 5 sec (20120801065702). My name: pid 7004 on solman (APServiceSM1)

It seems that it is waiting for RFC,

Did you take a look at the TP system Log in Tx STMS ?

Sometime there are locked files in the file system that the SAP system is unable to write to.

Look a directory /usr/sap/trans/tmp for in-use temporary files and revert.

I have some errors in MMC logs.

SAP Basis System: Operating system call

recv failed (error no. 10054)

Maybe it's the reason?

Now I restart server from backup. I will try to start new update.

This might be a problem in the SAPOSCOL so as now try the same by restart the server.

May I upgrade the kernel first?

Check if the SAPOSCOL is running?

try from command SAPOSCOL -O

more u can check the SAPOSCOL -? and u can stop and start the SAPOSCOL

clear the cache

restart the server

and try again

I don't have saposcol service in OS.

But file C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\saposcol.exe is in WindowsTaskManager.

Command SAPOSCOL -O didn't work. Then i add path C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\ to environment variable PATH and restart server.

Command SAPOSCOL -O is works now:
