how should i upgrade this system to EHP5?

hi, i have installed ECC 6.0 with EHP5 few days back. in my system all the patch levels are not in EHP5, only sap appl component in 605. how should i upgrade this system to EHP5? shall i apply patches from SPAM or need to run EHPI tool. Thanks

Hi kishore,

Components level depend on your system "Usage type" if you have done a clean install of ERP6 EHP5 is normal that only SAP_APPL is at 605.

yes, i have done clen install of ERP6 EHP5. i need to upgrade all or some components to EHP5. how should i upgrade?

Hi Kishore,

To update other components to EHP5, please refer to the below
information.

To do this, there are a few conditions:

1. You must have a stack xml file which must be generated from
   MOPZ again.

2. The Netweaver EHP1 is not a part of the queue to be defined.
   (should be updated already)

3. SAP_APPL 605 is not a part of the queue to be defined.
   (should be updated already)

Thus please follow the below mentioned directions carefully for XML
generation:

1. Goto transaction SMSY. Change product version of target system
   to "ERP 6.0" temporarily in SMSY with the following steps.

   - As the product version cannot be changed while system is assigned
     to a logical component of the old product version, please use the
     "where used list" to identify and remove the system from the old
     logical components.

   - In SMSY, select the target system SID.

   - In tab "Header Data" press button "Change Product Versions"

   - Add the Product "SAP ERP", Product Version "SAP ERP 6.0".

   - Set Flag "Copy" to "SAP ERP 6.0"

   - Reject copying system components from ERP in popup.

2. Reassign system to logical component

   - Right-click on SID in SMSY

   - Select "Assignment to Logical Components"

   - Assign logical component for main instance "ECC Server"

   - Register the logical component in the solution.

3. Run MOPZ for target system

   - Create Maintenance Transaction for product "ERP 6.0"

   - Select "Enhancement Package Installation"

   - Choose product version "EHP5 for ERP 6.0/NW 7.02"

   - Select the correct technical usage according to note 1165438

   - Generate XML file

4. Download stack XML file and software packages to target system then
   use the XML file as input for SAINT.

   Please place the XML file in EPS/in directory.

You need to check whats your system "Usage type" is going to be... you won't need to update all components.

You should be able to use SPAM/SAINT.

i have Installed ECC6.0 EHP5. i want to Upgrade the system as metioned above. shall i use SAINT or EHPI tool or SUM. please suggest.
