Hi All,
We need to store data in split weeks. Week = Sunday to saturday.
e.g for 2013 the following will be the period:
Period1 | 01-01-2013 |
Period2 | 06-01-2013 |
Period3 | 13-01-2013 |
Period4 | 20-01-2013 |
Period5 | 27-01-2013 |
Period6 | 01-02-2013 |
this way year 2013 has 63 weeks while year 2011 has 62 weeks and year 2012 has also 62 weeks.
How shall i configure the Fiscal year variant ?
Can I create 63 periods in FYV config but create only 62 periods.. Will it work ?
Why I am confused is in Storage bucket profile we can attach only one Fiscal year variant !
I have some other ideas in my mind to acheve this , but want to know if we have a straight forward way to acheve this . Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
Regards,
Biswajit Sahoo
Hello Biswajit, Ada, Harshil,
I'm also in the same situation, where we need to define telescopic time bucket profile using FYV.
For e.g. we have Z5 - With Fiscal Months, and Z7 - With Fiscal Periods.
Now if i need to display 18 Fiscal Months in Planning Book as my Planning Horizon, system doesn't allow me to define 18 Fiscal Months (Z5), including 3 Fiscal Months in Fiscal Weeks (Z7).
Also our year ends on 12/31/2012, no matter if 12/31 falls in the middle of the week. So i was wondering if we could split the last week of the year into 2 buckets. For e.g. for 2012, 12/30 and 12/31 will be clubbed together in one bucket, while 1/1 to 1/5 will be in a separate bucket.
As i cannot use both Z5 and Z7 in the same time bucket profile, i was thinking of using displaying first 3 months in Fiscal Weeks using Z7 and remaining 15 months in Calendar months.
But if i'm able to split the last week of the year, into 2 buckets, then the problem could be resolved.
Pl advise if splitting of the week is possible using some user exit.
Thanks,
Mangesh

Hello,
You'll need to set the number of periods as the maximum periods in a year, in your case, 63 periods.
Then for the years with 62 or less periods, set them as shortened fiscal year.
Please also check whether note 1734004 helps here.

Ada

Hi,
Fiscal year variant with different # of periods in different calendar definitely works. The dates mentions above are week start dates whereas you need to define week end date in config.
Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | |
1/1/2012 | 1/2/2012 | 1/3/2012 | 1/4/2012 | 1/5/2012 | 1/6/2012 | 1/7/2012 | P1 2012 |
12/30/2012 | 12/31/2012 | 1/1/2013 | 1/2/2013 | 1/3/2013 | 1/4/2013 | 1/5/2013 | P1 2013 |
12/29/2013 | 12/30/2013 | 12/31/2013 | 1/1/2014 | 1/2/2014 | 1/3/2014 | 1/4/2014 | P53 2013 |
Create FYV with 53 periods (I guess, confused with 63 period you mentioned) and you can have short year with 52 periods.
Try you should be ok.
