Hi

We have a custom SAP script for printing the customer invoice of finance docuemnts. We have recently encountered a case in which when we look at the print preview we are able to see the data correctly, but when we try to give a print, the print is not coming as the print preview and we are getting only - - - (dashes in the output). We are unable to figure out the issue and request help! Please let us know if any one has encountered similar situation

Hi,

As correctly pointed out by others there seems to be problem with the device type used during configuration of the printer. Please visit service.sap.com & search for your printer....there you will get the device type to be used. So configure the printer accordingly & that should sort out your issue.

Point to note: display DEPENDS on the the printer ( which in turn depends on the device type used while configuring that particuler prinrt. ) you give in print privew option.

I hope this helps,

That may be because of the printer.

Which output device you are using?

Hi Vivek

Thanks for the reply.

We are using printer - HPLJ5 (HP Laser jet5 R4.X + ONLY!)

We guess there is some compatibility issue (font family issues) with SAP and Printer. But dont know what is the exact solution for this

Sudha, which device you assigned to your output device - HPLJ5?

I think you are taking print of this invoice on Dot Matrix printer. So just try to use that output device in which you assigned device type which is compatible for dot matrix like - EPSON LQ-550.

For this you can see tcode - SPAD.
