VAR-Incident Management: S-User migration

Former Member

Hello!

We are using Solution Manager 7.1 SP5 and trying to activate VAR-scenario for several customers.

We would like to migrate/integrate all the S-Users from customers into Solution Manager.

Each key user of customer should have access to Solution Manager with their own S-User.

Question

Is it possible to migrate and all the S-users from customers into Solution Manager automatically?

Thank you!

Hi, Alex.

You can migrate all S-users of your customers from SAP Sevice Backbone.

Here is the configguide that Adi advised you: https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700001353932011E/VAR-Guide_IM_ConfMar16.pdf

Hello!

Many thanks!

Some vital/additional questions

The users from customer systems should also have the possibility to create messages from SAP GUI via Help -> Create support message

Question

1) With which user do the key user create the message from the satellite systems?

(SU01-user or S-user)

2) In order to create message within Solution Manager (Workcenter or CRM UI) do the user log in with S-User or with SU01-user?

How does the mapping from S-User and SU01 from the satellite system work?

If we are speaking about VAR scenario - your customers shouldn't create messages from satellite systems. Direct SAP customers create messages on SAP Service Marketplace using their S-user. Indirect (VAR) customers create messages directly in your SAP Solution Manager.

They log in with their S-users.

Hello Artem,

many thanks!

Yes, of course we are speaking about VAR scenario and especially about the migration of users (key user, processors).

What is the recommended way for the creation of messages (SAP GUI, SOLMAN_WORKCETNER, CRM_UI)

and migration of users (BP_USER_GEN, AI_SDK_SP_GENERATE_BP_V2)?

Does some special VAR-Guide for the user-migration exist on Service Marketplace?

I think that the best way for end users to create VAR incidents - is to use solman_workcenter (CRM UI is not good for end users in SP04 because they will see all your incidents).

For user migration you can use configguide that I shared above.

Hello,

do you know how to hide the message creation via SAP GUI "Help" --> "Create Support message" for not authorized users in satellite systems?

The proposal with the change of trusted RFC (option current user) is not very applicable, because the end users should enter the password of SOLMAN user during the message creation.

Hi,

It's possible. There's a configuration guide available in the service marketplace "Application Incident Management - Configuration and Upgrade Guide for Service Provider / SAP Channel Partner (VAR)". It's for SolMan 7.1 SP03. There you may find the answer to your question in chapter 2.3.4 Download Master Data from SAP Service Marketplace.
