Dear sd gurus i have little bit confusion about forward and back ward scheduling
suppose customer ordered 500 item on 15th ok but on the date stock is available only 100 items system confirms backward scheduling
reaming items will be given forward scheduling if 200 stock is available on 19 th and on25 th 100 item available and remaining 100 if available on 28th ( it is based on picking time , packing time , loading time )
how we maintain in system?
pl if any scrren shots pl provide

Hi Narra Murali,
The system will check the material availability based on ur setting in availability
loading time, pick/pack time, transit time, and transportation lead time
The system calculate the backward scheduling
Requested delivery date minus(-)transit time=Goods Issue date
Good issue date minus(-)loading time =loading date
loading date minus(-) transportation lead time = Transportation schedule date
loading date minus(-) pick pack time = material availability date
By default system will calculate the delivery date the closest date
The back work scheduling is done like example the order is today 28/jul/2011 and the cutomer requested deliver date is 05/aug/2011
Suppose its find the material is available only 100 in 28/july/2011 then system confirm 100 quantity in 05/aug/2011,then it will do forward scheduling
U can check in ovly
There are other setting in Material master mrp view available
Forward scheduling is also done if no product is available on the material availability date calculated by backward scheduling. The system does an availability check to determine the first possible date when product will be available. This new material availability date forms the starting point for scheduling the remaining activities. The loading time, pick/pack time, transit time, and transportation lead time are added to the new material availability date to calculate the confirmed delivery date.
Regards
Ramesh
