Use of tables in preconditions and procedures in Varaiant configuration

Dear SAP PLM folks,

I wanted to understand the following aspects of object dependencies in Variant config.

1. 1.Importance of using tables in precondition & procedure.
2. 2. Under what business scenario we should use Tables ?
3. 3. What are the limitations in precondition and procedure?
4. 4. What makes using tables advantage over using precondition and procedure condtions(What is not achievable by preconditions and how tables can assist in achieving the business requirement) ?

I have gone through LOVC sap help document, but it did'nt serverd my purpose.

So if any of you could really help me understand this concept with example, it will be very helpfull and i really appreciate ur efforts

We generally recommend to use tables if you going to use a lot of combinations. Please review note
