Hi Shahzeb,

While i analysis the log, i found that there is a problem with the connectivity of the server.

Error: Couldn't connect to DB

com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Exception of type java.sql.SQLException caught: JZ006: Caught IOException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

The possible cause for this problem,

1. Configuration error.

2.Host or port is misconfiguration.

Gothrough this link which help how to solve this.

Let me know if you have any queries.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much.

But one silly silly question . That link says please make sure database is running. I am assuming that Sap Start does that or do I need to manually start the database . If manually then can you please tell me how . I am just usuing Linux VM following the instructions from download manual.

Hi,

Eg :

Give the following command by login to your sidadm user from command line.

su  -<SAPSIDADM># startsap all

"stopsap all" - stop r3 and database.

"stopsap db" - stop only the database.

"stopsap r3" - stop r3 instance only.

"startsap all" - starts r3 and database.

"startsap db" - starts only the database.

"startsap r3" - starts r3 and assumes that the database is already started.

Hope this helps.
