Table PRPS, fields POSID and PSPNR

Hi,

What is the difference between the fields POSID and PSPNR in table PRPS?

Situation:

I created a WBS with number ABC.123. In PRPS at this point POSID = ABC.123 and PSPNR = ABC.123  as viewed in SE16N.

Now change the WBS number to ABC.567. In PRPS at this point POSID = ABC.567 and PSPNR = ABC.123. as viewed in SE16N.

An explanation for the observation would really help.

Thanks,

Pradeep

Dear Pradeep,

PRPS-PSPNR is internal number and PRPS-POSID is external number of WBS.

Within a client, a unique 1:1 ratio exists between the external WBS element number and its respective internal number.

The internal number is part of the key on the database table. The external number is unique, this means the external number can similarly only occur (as the internal number also) in each client one single time.

The internal number is determined from the respective number range object when a project or WBS element are created. The object number of the object is created based on this internal number.

For further information concerning the internal and external numbers of wbs-elements please review

attached note 522246.

Hi Pradeep,

PSPNR is unconverted value or internal number of WBS. In SE16N double click on the result line and check 'Value Unconverted' column. The reason you see same value in PSPNR and POSID is that conversion exits are active in SE16N. If you goto SE11 and disable conversion exits you will see value in POSID and internal number in PSPNR. Discuss with your developer for more details. Hope this solves your doubt.
