We are using the following software’s:

· SAP R/3 Server 4.7 (version)

· Documentum Content Services 5.3

· Content_Services_for_SAP_5.3_SP3_server

· Content_Services_for_SAP_5.3_SP3_client

· Tomcat 5.0.27

There are 3 components installed, (Administrator / VIEW / CAPTURE). While opening VIEW (i.e DMVIEW). It asks for SAP R/3 user id / password. After providing these, we are able to connect to SAP R/3 server. Then from MANAGE DOCUMENT from the menu, we are able to query SAP. It produces useful result. When we press, the link button it links the document. But when pressing the APPLY button it shows the following error:

“COULD NOT CREATE PLM DIR (E26087) DATA CARRIER DOCUMENTUM NOT DEFINED”

We are able to query data from SAP R/3 Server, but facing problem to establish a link.

That means the configuration in SAP is not complete.

Go to SPRO -> Cross-Application Componenets -> Document Management -> General Data -> Define Data Carrier

Double click the node - Define data carrier type "external DMS"

Create an entry

Type - EX

Description - Documentum

Online = X (Checked)

Ex = X (Checkded)

Select the entry and double click sub node - Define external DMS

Create an entry

DataCar. - DOCUMENTUM

Typ - EX

Description - Documentum

Save.

It should resolve the error message you are getting.

Thanks Pranav for your kind help on this. We are able to solve that problem by the steps you mentioned. But we are stuck up, following the next step.

The error is "COULD NOT CREATE PLM DIR (E26068) NETWORK ADDRESS DEFAULT OF YOUR COMPUTER IS NOT MAINTAINED".

Further to this, also please mention us if there are any other steps to be configured in SAP R/3 server. We will be able to send you the screen shots of the error if you provide us your email id.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Go to SPRO -> Cross-Application Componenets -> Document Management -> General Data -> Define Data Carrier

Double click the node - Define data carrier type "server, front end"

Create an entry

Type - AS (Anything you want)

Description - Carrier (Some meaningful description)

Online = X (Checked)

You may also select an existing entry.

Select the entry and double click sub node - Identify frontend computers

On top right corner, click button 'Default entry'.

Save.

It should resolve the error message you are getting.
