SAP Logon error "Wrong THREAD_GLOBALDATA struct n .\sapfmngr.cpp

Hi Experts,

We have few users which are facing error below while trying to login to any SAP system using SAP logon pad (login via portal as well)

"Wrong THREAD_GLOBALDATA struct in .\sapfmngr.cpp.
Please search for an OSS note with keyword 'THREAD_GLOBALDATA'. "

SAP GUI release is 720 patch level 11

this issue mainly presist when you old sap gui is not completely removed and you install a new one.

Unusual error. Can you please tell us when did they started getting the error? did something change? was new software deployed?, are you using SAP Frontend installation server?

Hi Juan,

Yes; unusual error.   Recently we have SAP GUIs upgraded on all computers to pacth level 11. We used SAPGUI_720_PatchBW10G11_1.exe.

For most of us; it worked fine. But few users at a remote location are facing this issue. For which it was wrorking fine earlier. We will try reinstalling SAP GUI if issue persists

Not really sure, but sounds to me that for some reason the upgrade did not performed a "clean install"... I would try to redeploy, if that doesn't work, do a full uninstall and cleanup and try again.
