Regarding QAS Instance not starting

Dear friends  I had installed solman,DEV,QAS on the same host on different listener ports thats why three listner files created my server has 64GB RAM HPPROLIANT 580 but when i am starting third instance QAS it is not starting giving error and if i stop DEV instance and then start QAS instance it started smoothly i am attaching dev_disp of QAS Pls tell me some solution.

The problem is this:

Error 1455 means: "The paging file is too small for this operation to complete.". Increase the pagefile and you will be able to start all the systems.

I think you need to check PHYS_MEMSIZE for all 3 instances.

Distribute the 64 GB to 3 systems, and restart the services and restart the systems.

By default it uses all the available physical memory for all the instances.

Hello Vishal, hello Nirvikar,

Only some parameters are calculated from PHYS_MEMSIZE, see in SAP note 88416 and

Overview of Parameters for Windows on SAP Help Portal. These are em/initial_size_MB and abap/heap_area_total. None of them are allocated at startup of the instance, therefore the value of PHYS_MEMSIZE can not be the reason of startup problem. The error message (1455) is clear. This is a 64 bit Windows with 3 system configured on it, for which the configured paging space is not enough, therefore it needs to be increased.

Thanks for the update. Great news

For help in configuring the system parameters refer to Memory management on Windows, to attachment (Pagefile_final.pdf) of  SAP note 1518419 and to SAP note 88416. You have to set PHYS_MEMSIZE accordingly and monitor all three systems (ST02 - swaps, ST06 - page in).

The color of the dispatcher is yellow and displays message server running but no information of wp que available.

and the instanse stuck not becoming green.and if i click AS ABAP WP Table there are no work process there its blank and in syslog there is no error.

In fact the system is running, this is only a proble in displaying. The reason is that sapstartsrv.exe and diso.work.exe are in different version. See also SAP note 396309. Attach the outcome of these commands:.

   sapcontrol -nr 03 -function GetProcessList

   sapcontrol -nr 03 -function GetVersionInfo

   sc qs SAPQAS_03

Exactly as I supposed, the patch level of sapstartsrv.exe is 46 but disp+work.exe is already on patchlevel 300. Perform these steps:

- Stop QAS.

- Stop the Windows service SAPQAS_03.

- Replace S:\usr\sap\QAS\DVEBMGS03\exe\sapstartsrv.exe with sapstartsrv.exe, patch level 300.

- Start Windows service SAPQAS_03.

- Start QAS.

The Executables are in two places

1.S:\usr\sap\QAS\DVEBMGS03\exe            DIR_EXECUTABLE

2.S:\usr\sap\QAS\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64     DIR_CT_RUN

In kernel up gradation is we have to upgrade on both the directories or on the DIR_CT_RUN only and what is the reason.pls explain me.

Dear Nirvikar,

Kernel has to be exchanged in DIR_CT_RUN folder, from there sapcpe has to copy the files to DIR_EXECUTABLE.  In this special case you need to follow the previous recommendations above and copy sapstartsrv.exe manually to DIR_EXECUTABLE. To be on the safe side, check the version of sapstartsrv.exe in DIR_CT_RUN as well (right click on executable - properties - version, this has to show version 720.300.xxxx.xxxx).

I had finished the fresh installation of ECC 6.0 EHP5 i had update spam/saint from level 38 to 46 and kernel update from patch level from 46 to 300 also i had finished the installation of solution manager 7.1 sr3 .

Sir now i am trying to install saprouter on one particular machine on which one of the public IP is forwarded on that machine i generated the certificate and import successfully the certificate from marketplace in this system on which i am trying to install saprouter sap  is not install but when i am trying to start saprouter it is giving error the output i am attaching with this mail and also pls guide me after saprouter installation how can i configure solman.

Sir I have to upgrade my HR patch from 600 to 605.and my solman is not configured

My component patch level are as follows

is there is any way to upgrade it manually.
