Upgrade 7.3 BI - Downtime Main_NEWBAS/STARTSAP_NBAS

Hi All,

I am upgrading the BI Server 7.0 (Abap & Java Stack) to BI 7.3(Abap & Java Stack)

Downtime - System is Offline

In this roadmap step, the switch to the new system takes place.

The upgrade program converts application tables and data to match the

target release layout.

It also switches the kernel.

I have reached the phase of DOWNTIME/MAIN_NEWBAS/STARTSAP_NBAS

After the switch of kernel ,the upgrade tool is trying to startsap on the shadow system , it fails to start.

Please refer to attachment for dev_disp & dev_w0 .

Please advice soonest I really can't proceed with the upgrade now .Thanks

Regards

Clement

Hallo,

if you have an issue with SNC remove the SNC configuration from the SAP profiles and add it again at the end of the upgrade.

However, I can't see any logs here indicating you actually have an SNC issue.

During my past upgrades (including to 7.3 on BW) I also experienced this issue by starting SAP manually and the let SUM repeat the phase.

Regards,

Thomas.

Can you check what is the value of SECUDIR value in the instance profile .

Is it /home/<sid>adm/sec ?

If not change the to the appropriate one where the ticket/pse files  is stored  which normally is /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance_name>/sec

Is it there in the environment of the <sid>adm if SECUDIR exists ?

can you also check if ddirectory sec exists under /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance_name> and if yes what are the contents in the directory ?
