BRF Decision Types - Example required

Hi All,

There are 4 Decision types when we configure any Shopping Cart Process Levels as listed below:-

Decision Type 1: Decision for Entire Document

Decision Type 2: Item-Based Decision for Entire Document

Decision Type 3: Overall Decision for Partial Document

Decision Type 4: Item-Based Decision for Partial Document

Can anybody explain me these with an example of Shopping Cart?

Hi Siddarth,

Consider the example of a process level where you are determining approvers for cost centre in the SC.
There is a SC with 4 line items and the account assignment as below:

Line Item 1 - Cost Centre 1 - Approver 1
Line item 2 - Cost Centre 2 - Approver 2
Line item 3 - Cost Centre 1 - Approver 1
Line item 4 - Cost Centre 2 - Approver 2

So for decision type 1 : Decision for Entire Document
The SC will go to approver 1 and he has the authority to approve entire document.

Decision Type 2: Item-Based Decision for Entire Document
The SC will go to approver 1 and he has authority to say for eg approve 3 line item & reject the fourth line item

Decision Type 3: Overall Decision for Partial Document
Here the SC will go to both approvers. Approver 1 has authority to approve both the line item 1 & line item 3. Approver 2 has authority to approve both the line item 2 & line item 4.

Decision Type 4: Item-Based Decision for Partial Document
Here like scenario 3, the Sc will go to both approver. But here say for eg. approver 1 can reject line item 1 and approve line item 3.

Type1: one agent approves or reject for entire line items (header level) of the shopping cart.

Type2: one agent approves or reject each line item (item level) of the shopping cart.

Type3: multiple agent can approve or reject group of items in the shopping cart but at the header level only (approval or rejection once for group of line items)

Type4: multiple agent can approve or reject items in the shopping cart but at the item level only (approval or rejection for each line items by different agents assigned)
