How mail sender adapter checks new message?

Hello Friends

We receive some duplicate messages from the mail server ever day. These duplicate messages are failed with application error. Only new messages are being processed successfully. When I check the channel for Mail Sender Adatper, the check box "Delete Messages Once Read" is not checked. (May be, this is business requirement).

Our doubt is how the mail sender adapter checks whether this is new message or not.

Could you please clarify friends ?

Our PI Version is 7.0

Mail Sender Adapter Configuration:

----------------------------------------------------------------

Adapter Type : Mail   Version : SAP BASIS 7.00

Transport Protocol: IMAP4

URL: imaps://<mail_server_name>/Inbox

Configure user authentication is checked.

Poll Interval (Min)* : 15

Mail Attributes:

Use Mail Package - Checked

Keep Attachments - Checked

Default Interface Name      - <given>

Default Interface Namespace - <given>

Quality of Service: Exactly Once.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Thanking you.

Kind regards

Jegathees P.

Hi,

>>>>When I check the channel for Mail Sender Adatper, the check box "Delete Messages Once Read" is not checked.

why would this be a business req ? this check does not delete messages

it just moves them to a different folder which will not be pulled later on - just select this and specify a destination/archive folder and test if you still have the same issue,

Hi Michal

I thought the same thing. But, in our case the this Mail Server is common for Production and Non-Production Systems. This should be the reason for this option is not checked.

Anyway, I will check with business to check this option and let you know.

I thank you very much for your kind reply.

Kind regards,

Hello Michal & Friends

We checked Folder Option in the Mail Sender Channel to move the read messages to the 'Archive' folder. But, still in PI we receive few duplicate messages from the Mail Server with little time stamp difference. When we checked in Mail Server, there is no duplicate messages during this time. Each message are in only once.

I could not find any special parameters in the channel also.

Could you please clarify?

Kind regards,

Jegathees P.
