Archive - Aborted Archiving

Hi experts,

we started an archive job (via SARA->WRITE) which aborted hard, as our server gots an error.

No we have entries in SARA->Management->Incomplete Archiving Sessions with status "Job Canceled".

We clicked on them with "Storage System"-> and next on "Retrieve Files".

Now the "flash" near the data files (in sara) was changed to an yellow icon, but the Status "Job Canceled" is still on.

This process recovered us the data files RETRIEVED....

What should we do next?

The files got now the status "Archiving Complete".

Should we next start the deleting-task for this data block?

But we know definitely, that this block is not complete.

So may the system so delete data, which is not archived?

How can I delete the "RETRIEVED..." Files. Do I have to do this on OS-level?

Thx for any help in advance

Kind regards

Hi Christian,

I think you have to repeat the WRITE process again, same variant, and then, when WRITE session is correct proceed with DELETE process.

When you retrieve data only reload these data in temporary tables in de R/3 database.

And about the incomplete WRITE session you can set as invalid session.

Pablo.

As far as I remember, Retrieve files will only retrieve data from the repository and drop them in the transfer directory. So you will find the files there. If no reload is to be done you can safely delete them.

Thx

yes we will delete (via sara) now all file-packages which are complete.

After that we will start an write-job again.

But how can I delete the retrieved archive files?

Via OS?

Thx

Yes you will see them in the transfer directory. Tranfer directory is by default /sapmnt/<SID>/global but you can the path on OAC0
