Hello gurus,
I would like to configure opportunistic cross-docking in EWM.
EWM is implemented as an add-on.
After doing the required customizing, I'm trying to execute the process as explained in the following link :
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ewm70/helpdata/en/d3/49397317d64478aea5e1717d1dee95/content.htm
If my understanding is correct, after the goods receipt, 2 tasks should be created :
- One for putaway (from 9010 to 0050 storage type, for example)
- Another one for picking (from 9010 to 9020 storage type).
I have created an inbound and outbound delivery for the same product.
A stock determination group is assigned to this product.
I've confirmed the goods receipt and then I've created the WT for putaway.
However, in my case, the warehouse task for picking is not created automatically !
Can somebody explain to me the possible reasons ?
Kind regards,
Bahia
Hi,
Check the PPF tab of the outbound delivery that you have created.
If it is in yellow status then you need to process it to create pick task and for long term solution you need to change it to immediate processing.

Hi,
- have you implemented the required BADI for cross-dockin`g?
- is you inbound delivery packed in a HU?

Hi,
"You mean that to get the picking task generated automatically in cross-dock processes HUs are mandatory?"
No, one error could have been that you have an HU but do not require the full HU content for outbound. Because then no CD is done.
- Maintained the product group type and product group for which you have set up CD in the product?

Hi,
ok.
Hm, added 9010 in you picking storage type search? The system needs to understand from what staging area a CD can happen.

Not really... This depends on the quantities. If the full quantity is cross-docked, then you do not get a putaway task, only a picking task. And when you create the WT from the outbound delivery order, you also only get a picking task for the required quantity. You only also get a putaway task if not all material is used for the outbound delivery order and when you create the WT for the inbound delivery.
