Hello,
We are considering some different variants to build customer production environment for SAP ERP.
Now we have installed and configured DEV system only. At the whole all customizing are finished there.
We need install QAS and PRD system and transfer the customer solution to these systems from DEV.
As one of simple and quick approach being considered is to do system copy from DEV to QAS and PRD system sequently and just once.
We'd like to know if there are serious limitations, obstacles or recomendations why we should not to build PROD in such manner?
Any advices, pros and cons are welcome.
Thank you very much.
Hi,
Would second Juan's recommendation here. DEV would have basically been a test and playground environment for the developers. No matter how much you clean up - something would come through. And you would not want this unnecessary data in the production - and more critically its impact on the production system.

Always the best practice is to build a clean system and transport the developments. That way you can track version management of your developments from the very beginning. Also no matter how clean your development has been in DEV you'll be copying unnecesary data to Production.
That's my 2 cents.

Juan
