PI 7.3 Upgrade :- Exporting objects from 7.3 to 7.1

Hello All,

We are planning to upgrade from our current version PI 7.1 to PI 7.3 (dual stack). While we are in the middle of our upgrade we wanted to know that in case of emergencies like break fix for PI services if it is possible to export PI 7.3 development objects (ESR & IB) into PI 7.1 production.

Do we need to maintain a seperate PI 7.1 shadow development landscape for managing & supporting breakfixes and other issues in production ?

I really appreciate your help with the questions.

Thanks,

Kiran

IMO, the export from dual stack 7.3 to 7.1 should not be issue. I would rather first move the existing PI 7.1 objects as tpz format as a backup before you migrate to 7.3 this way you have another backup availability.

Thanks Bhaskar !! If we have to make a code fix for an existing PI 7.1 scenario in production. Can we make the same fix in PI 7.3 development server and export it to production ? We were concerned since we will be going from PI 7.3 to PI 7.1 and it might corrupt some SC's for us ?

Thanks,

Kiran

Your requirement is backward compatible. Technically you need to have both Dev and Prod same version all the time. This requires more admin related/test issues. If it is just for single migration then it is okay.
