Hi
A logical system is used to identify an individual client in a system, for ALE communication between SAP systems.
LOGICAL SYSTEM means usually the SLD entry "logical system" resp the name which is given by customizing in transaction SALE. It is only used for IDoc traffic

Hi Muthavarapura,
I guess logical system is just a name which is pointing to the actual SAP system. It doesnt represent or hv technical information like ip addr, client details with it.
Creation of Logical system: TCODE : BD54
Assign a client to it using TCODE SCC4
You will using it often when u configure XI-Idoc scenarios i.e. while configuring ALE settings. XI will identify the sender SAP system using the logical system name given to it in the SLD.

Akshay

In Customizing, choose Basis -> Distribution (ALE) -> Prepare Sending and Receiving Systems -> Set Up Logical Systems.
