IDR - Restoring to new site

Former Member

Good day.

For IDR purposes, I need to be able to restore my Production Database on a standby system.

Question is, how do I restore the SAPBACKUP\back<SID>.log file?

BRRESTORE keeps complaining that it can't find the file.

I'm currently using the following command to restore:

brrestore -p init<SID>.sap -b last -m full

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Charles.

Hello,

BRRESTORE ( and other BR* tools ) use the logs generated by brbackup, brarchive to identify the backups, objects backed up ...

If you are restoring in a "new" server this files are not available.

First thing you have to do is to restore this files from tape.

You have to follow the "disaster recovery" procedure:

Thanks Fidel.

Greately appreciated!

Manual recovery of the Backup Detail and Summary logs required prior to restoring system.

That link to the SAP Database Guide for Oracle will come in handy!
