Is it possible to change the "solution id" of a solution (DSWP)?

Hi,

We have a "test" and "production" Solman environment. As you know much of the authorization concept (specially for monitoring scenarios) depends on the "solution id". The descriptions of our solutions in our "test" and "production" environments are the same but the "solution id" is different (it is assigned automatically when you create them). Thus it is quite difficult for us to maintain the same roles in our "test" and "production" environments (every time we transport one rol we have to adapt the "solution id").

Is there any way (report, function, etc) to change the "solution id" so that we can have the same "solution id"s in "test" and "production"?

Doing an homogeneous system copy would be of course a possible solution but it is not possible at the moment because we have some ongoing developments in the "test" environment.

Hi Jon,

There is no such report, we had the same problem, but after the system copy we wanted to change the solution id to a different one and SAP wrote that the only possibility is to create a new solution and copy the other one over.

However I'm not sure if it would work, but if you would create a new solution change the id of the solution in the table (sorry I don't recall what is the main table, there solution ID is stored) and copy the solution to the new one that might (but just might!) work.
