Error during NW 7.3 Upgrade - The stack does not match the system.

Hi,

we are upgrading a BI System (dual stack) from 7.0 to 7.3 version.

In Configuration phase under Java Stack, we get the following error:

The stack does not match the system. Probably the system was changed

after the stack was generated. Synchronize the system with SAP Solution

Manager and then generate a new stack. Software component

sap.com/NWMDRIVERS is found on the system but not in the list of expected

system components in the stack.

We have previously undeployed MI (mobile infrastructure) from Java stack and also deleted the records at DB level in the following tables:

BC_SL_SWFEATURE (Note 1595918 says about this error).

BC_SL_COMPONENTS (there were 4 MI components in this table - NWMADMIN, NWMCLIENT, NWMDRIVERS, NWMWDLAP)

BC_SL_ACTIVE_PARTS (there was a record - MI)

After doing this, we started the Upgrade from scratch but no success. Please help.

Regards,

Mohan.

It seems to be incorrect undeploying of sap.com/NWMDRIVERS component. Try to check procedure for undeploying in  Note 899701 - Installing New Drivers for SAP MI 7.0 SPS05

Hi Roman,

The Note provided by you points to this link which only says to use SDM tool to undeploy components. I have done the same.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/05e450d1cd6e95e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm

How to go further now?

Regards,

Mohan.

Can you go this URL (http://hostname:5NN00/utl/UsageTypesInfo) and find the Usage Type of your system.

Make sure your system is correctly configured in Solman for this usage type.  Then regenerate the XML Stack file.

Also, take a look at the note #1888623 that can help you in upgrade steps.

Hello

You need to first delete the contents of the table BC_SL_SWFEATURE and then recreate the stack file once again.

Then start the upgrade with the newly created stack file.
