Database start failed on linux maxdb

Hello

I am in a process of homogeneous system copy, using backup-restore from source and new system with change in SID and DBSID.

i am using sapinst to build new system

i took the backup from source system , using backup i am building new system using sapinst

in phase backup/restore i executed backup restore using DBMCLI after the restore had been completed.

the database is not starting

when i start tha database it is reporting following error

Connect to the database to verify the database is now open

dbmcli check finished with

return code: 0

Database start failed

please advice how do i manage this XUSER

i dont see the a .XUSER.62 in my home directory how do i create this file in home directory

please advice

Hello,

The XUSER entries are OS user dependent. As you are using SAPinst => you are SAP customer.

Please see in SAP Note 39439 on how to adjust the XUSER entries for the central instance and for all application servers.

Did you create the SAP message where this issue was reported?

Hello Vardhan,

what is your SAP message?

In the SAP message the reason why the issue occurred and solution could be done by SAP support.

i was able to figure out the issue and resolve

Note 129352 - Homogeneous system copy with MaxDB (SAP DB)

SAP Note 39439

these two notes helped me a lot
