Hi,

your question isn't clear.

Are you looking for reasons not to do something ?  (pros/cons)
Or are you unable to join Tera + BW ?

the main purpose of Multi-sourcing is to combine data foundations from heterogenous disparate non-sap sources

Hi Henry,

Thank you for your response.

we are trying to do a multi-source universe.

we are trying to create a universe on top DB2, Teradata and SAP BW.

i can directly pull the tables from DB2 and Teradata but can i directly pull multiprovider and join all these tables from these systems? or do i have to pull data from DSO or InfoCube?

Thanks

Vishal

Hi,

You can select any of the InfoProvider datatargets you've mentionned.

You should do 'detect joins based on..xx' and see what the wizard proposes accross the different connections.

the join modelling will have an impact on performance. difficult to say from here, but I suspect the Relational tables will join with the OLAP connections master data tables, rather than a cube's fact table.

Then you have the join sytax to consider. Some basic info here: https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001251732010E

Advanced monitoring/ tuning would then be done to the SQL execution plan using the Data Federator Admin Tool (optional)
