Role request rejected in the CUP by system automatically GRC 5.3

Hi GRC gurus,

I got an issue in the GRC 5.3. The user created a request for 3 roles in the CUP and the error 'Role Rejected by system because no approval process is defined' was shown for one of the roles.

The background of the request:

1. three roles were requested

2. One role is to be approved by manager A

3. the other 2 roles are to be approved by manager B, one is okay and the other is rejected by system citing the above error.

4. the initiator is active

5. the approving manager is active

6. the workflow is active.

7. there is no restriction set up in the approval process such as employee type etc.

Is there anything else I might have missed the checking?

Hi Yew,

Please try restarting the Java instance and after that refresh the cache. click on Miscellaneous -> Refresh Cache.

If you are getting role rejected issues, then increasing your Cache Job Time Interval value from what it is now, can solve the problem.You may increase 10 to 15 mins more than now .This will minimize the issue reoccurence.

The issue was resolved. Apparently in the 'Initiators', the role can be deleted from it. My company is using the workflow for 'Initiator' differently from the convention use.

By removing the role from the 'Initiator', the role can now be processed correctly.
