In SRM 7.0 I am able to hide buttons using the weby dynpro configurator without the sytem asking me for a developer "object" key. We have upgraded our SRM 7 sandbox to enhancement package 1 and that confirguration has been overwritten and when we go to reapply the configuration the system is asking for an "object" key.
Is web-dynpro now considered a modification???

Hi,
Please see the note 1595724 in BC-WD
There was a bug that the error is not issued when changing web dynpro even if the access key is needed in the old release , it is fixed now.

After you implement the corrections, the system correctly issues error
message SWDP_CONFIGURATION 203 if you attempt to change a Web Dynpro
configuration that was delivered by SAP. You must then use SAP Service
Marketplace to obtain an access key for this configuration.
Ensure that you copy the configuration key using the "Copy & Paste"
function because the blank characters before the digits 00 or 02 are
relevant. One example is: /SAPSRM/POWL_CONFIG 00.
You can use the report WD_CFG_ACCESSKEY to enter the key in the SAP
system.
Hi Laurent,
You were correct, I was able to do an enhancment. I did not know that option was there for the "configurator". For anyone else reading this post, you goto the web dynpro component and the configurator that is associated to the button that you want to hide and click "other functions" and select "create enhancement". Then you can make the configuration changes without a modification.
