Hi, friends.
Can any of you explain differences among three tools?
When to use which of them?
1. Clone Finder & Dynamic Usage Detector
2. Custom Code Lifecycle Managemen
3. Custom Development Management Cockpit
thanks
Carol
Hi,
I would like to explain in the below sequence
1. CDMC ( Customer Developemnt Management Cockpit)
it is a feature used in upgrade time, to check the usage and impact of the custom developements in the system landscape.
It has 2 analysis, 1st as Clearing analysis, where you get the usage report for custom programs, where you can get the list of obsolete objects. 2nd as Upgrade/Change Impact analysis will show the impact of the upgrade onthe custom objects, and tentative time requried for adjusting those.
by default it takes 3 months data from ST03N for analysis.
This is available from SM 7.0 EHp1 onwards.
2. CCLM (Custom Code Life cycle Management)
From the name itself ,it is used to manage the entire lifecycle of the custom objects, from creation to till the retirement.
here you can get the list of all the custom codes periodically from the managed system by back ground jobs from solution manager
you can get the dashboard view of the custom codes status time to time, where even higher ppl also can understand
This is available in SM 7.1 onwards
3. Clone finder and Dynamic usage detector
again this is another extended planned innovation on SM 7.1 CCLM,where clone finder helps to optimize the custom codes, compare with sap standard object, what extent it get changed. it increase more transparency in cclm.
you can get all the needed documents from
service.sap.com/rkt-solman
please check
Thanks,
Jansi

Hi,Jansi Rani Murugesan
your reply help me understand these tools very well, thank you for that
as i know clone finder has a function called Transaction code similarity that can get customer created TA and show similarly with SAP standard
1) can this result be available on solution manager?
if not does solution manager have other tool can get the customer TA information ?
2) if this result available on solution manager ,can customer send these data back to SAP so SAP can do some analysis like EWA data ?
Regards ,
Stephen
