use of CCMS with regards to PI monitoring

Hi

I wanted to understand why do we use CCMS when we tools like RWB for monitoring..

Does it allow to monitor sender / PI / Receiver systems all at one place ?

Is this the main reason?

CCMS allows monitoring of systems and resources across SAP landscape. If central monitoring is set up, then all the SAP systems can be monitored in one place. With respect to PI, CCMS has a special PI monitor that helps in monitoring ABAP/Java components, Queues, Alerts and more. CCMS has much more functionality than just monitoring PI specific items.

RWB/PIMON/ like monitoring tools are intended to be used to analyze issues. Whereas CCMS PI monitor / Solman PI monitor are used to detect issues and react automatically or manually. SAP recommends SOLMAN for central monitoring of PI.

  No. CCMS can monitor the interfaces + PI data base + tRFC QRFC errors+ queues + File system growth.

In overall using CCMS we can do alerting with system monitoring.
