Hello,

I am importing SPS10 on Neatweaver 7.02+MaxDB system (new installation) and I have the fallowing error:

The following details help you to analyze the problem:

     -   Error in phase: DDIC_IMPORT

     -   Reason for error: TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM

     -   Return code: 0012

     -   Error message: A tool used by tp aborted

If I look into the logs, the only error I can find is:

4 ETW000  [dblink      ,00000]  ***LOG BY2=>sql error -10709 performing CON                               66  0.371073

4 ETW000  [dblink      ,00000]  ***LOG BY0=>Connection failed (RTE:[1] cannot create communication semaphore)

4 ETW000                                                                                                  31  0.371104

1AETW000 ===> HALT: reconnect to DB failed Please contact the SAP support.

4 ETW000 End of Transport (0016).

The connection to the database R3trans -x successful. Can please help me finding solution to the problem?

manoliv

Can you check the MAXUSER limit ?

Also update the DBSL (in the SAP kernel) and check if that works.

Hello all,

Thank you for your answers, all of them were helpful. The problem was with the parameter kernel.sem at OS level in file sysctl.conf that had to be increased. As the temporary workaround also a stop/start of the system and start the import of the ABAP stack with the Java part down did the trick temporary.

Manu

This message is typical of a problem with you OS parameters.

Review SAP Note 628131 - SAP DB/MaxDB operating system parameters on Unix
