Installing the 720_EXT kernel on ECC 6.0

We recently upgraded our OS to V7R1 and want to use the 720_EXT kernel.  I'm following note 1636252 to install the kernel but am encountering the following error:

ERROR: Parameter DIR_CT_RUN invalid in profile    

  '/sapmnt/D60/profile/START_DVEBMGS60_VALDDEV1' 

I've set this parameter in my instance and start profiles to the following value per the note:

DIR_CT_RUN = $(DIR_EXE_ROOT)/run

Any idea?

unfortunately, a big bug in the ILE_TOOLS ...

Please have a look at note 1734872 - that helps 😉

Perhaps you could offer a solution to another problem?  When I'm starting the instance I'm getting this error:

collectSystemInfo: sid  retrieved from instance profile                 

  "/usr/sap/D60/SYS/profile/D60_DVEBMGS60_VALDDEV1" does not match sid .

RtvSidCfg: D60 system info status is not OK (2).                        

StartAllInstances: Starting all instances of system D60 is not possible.

  System configuration can not be retrieved.                            

O4STRSTP: Starting all instances of system D60 failed.                 

What does it mean that my instance profile doesn not match sid?

Please have a look at note 1702912 - that helps 😉
