Halo SVR,

1. You can do the User Mapping between Portal and backend systems, if you have the same user ids on ABAP/backend systems & portal by configuring logon tickets for Single Sign-On (SSO) to ABAP/backend systems

2. If the ABAP System IDs are different from the portal user IDs, you must define a reference system.

3. Defining a reference is done by creating a system system object in the SAP NetWeaver Portal
