High CPU utilization of sapstartsrv.exe and jstart.exe

Hello!

On our Solution Manager 7.1 SP5 server (Windows 2008 R2) we detect high CPU utilization.

The processes with the most CPU consumption are:

sapstartsrv.exe of SAP Host Agent (we use the latest version)

jstart.exe of Diagnostic Agent 7.30

Can some one help me to solve this problem?

Hi,

As your version of LM-SERVICE is on LM-SERVICE 7.10 SP5 patch 0 this is a known bug and will be solved with LM-SERVICE 7.10 SP5 patch 1 that will be delivered this week.

We are facing this issue in recently patched Solu.Mgr 7.1 SP7, with latest LM-SERVICE.  With CPU utilisation going up to 65%, more time is spend on the monitoring the monitoring tool, rather than the managed system!

Raised high priority message with SAP; will update this thread once I have a solution....

Best regards,

Shaji

Hi,

many thanks!

our SAP_HOST_AGENT and LM_SERVICE are up to date:

SAP HOST AGENT 7.20 SP111

LM_SERVICE SP05 for SOLMANDIAG 7.10 Patch 0

The version of Diagnostic Agent is:

DIAGNOSTICS AGENT 7.3 SP02 from 13.5.2011

Is there some newer version available?

When we update the SAP HOST AGENT the CPU consumption getting better for some days, but then (after a week) the CPU consumption increases dramatically.

Hi Alex,

I have the similar issue with hosts running on Win2k3, I'm progressing OSS message for this, they are suspecting communication issues between SMD and Wily EM server. I'm on SM 7.1 SP5 with Wily EM 8, wondering is it required to upgrade to Wily EM 9?

Will update you once we got the resolution.

Regards,

Yohanes
